Ready to Help

Published

After my son's 10th birthday this year, as parents arrived to retrieve their offspring one of them asked me 'What do you do?' When I delivered my usual answer that 'I work in timeshare,' I watched in dismay as this Mom's face wrinkled in disgust, before quickly resuming a guise of neutrality.

Of course, I went on to explain that I worked in timeshare resale, helping families to sell & rent their properties, and within minutes, the tone had changed considerably. Mom, it seems, has a fondness for a certain beachfront Wyndham resort, one that rents for several hundred a night - and one we currently have listed for rental for less than $1,000 per week. After reassuring her that this was no promotion, just an owner not using his timeshare, she'll probably end up renting a week from one of our clients.

Ultimately, I was reminded how 're-educating the public' about vacation ownership is one of the greatest responsibilities of any resale company.... and that it was time to start posting to the Help Timeshare blog.  I'm ready to help!
