Resort of the Month: Hilton Grand Vacations Club at Anderson Ocean Club

Our resort of the month for February 2018 is the Anderson Ocean Club by Hilton Grand Vacations Club, an oceanfront resort in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. This property stands out for its location, the family-friendly amenities offered, and the long-term value of exchange through the HGVC points system. Unlike some competing points systems, Hilton Grand Vacations Club allows resale buyers to use the same points as the original owner without purchasing an upgrade. While maintenance fees and taxes at Anderson Ocean Club are a little higher than average at around $1,000, they still represent a substantial savings over the cost of renting from Hilton by the night. This is the kind of vacation ownership you'll be proud to tell your friends about!

Location

Myrtle Beach, SC has long been a favorite vacation spot for families from throughout the Southeastern and Midwestern U.S. Additionally, it's one of the closest beaches to Metro Atlanta. While many of the resorts in Myrtle Beach are located 'near' the beach, Anderson Ocean Club offers a true 'beachfront' experience. All of the resort's studio, one, two, and three-bedroom units have a view of the ocean. The pool sits just steps from the beach.

Family-Friendly Amenities

If you're taking kids to a beach resort, you want to know the atmosphere of the resort and the amenities offered are going to be 'family friendly.' While it has an attractive upscale feel, Anderson Ocean Club was clearly designed with family in mind. There are plenty of onsite activities to enjoy with the kids; including miniature golf at the 'Lost Mine,' both indoor and outdoor pools, a cafe, and an oceanside bar and grill.

Of course, the best way to keep your family happy on vacation is to give them a comfortable vacation home to stay in; one with separate bedrooms! Having a full kitchen at your disposal doesn't hurt either, especially for those travelers with toddlers or infants.

HGVC Points: a Vacation Value

The Anderson Ocean Club is so nice that you might want to return there year after year... but over time tastes change and needs change. The best vacation ownerships grow with you. Owning a deeded week here allows you to exchange using Hilton Grand Vacations Club points, a 'vacation currency' that can be spent at any HGVC resort (based on availability.) Your points can be used for partial week stays as well; allowing for multiple vacations per year.

If you like and enjoy the accommodations at Anderson Ocean Club, then you will like any of the other HGVC resorts also; as they are all built to somewhat similar standards of quality and spaciousness. You might also choose to join RCI and exchange by the week to many fine locations through their program, but this is where the costs start climbing and some of the value proposition is lost. Using your points at other HGVC locations most of the time represents the best value when compared to other modes of vacationing.
